DIY: Sugar Body Scrub

Now that the colder weather is starting to descend upon us, we have a whole new slew of worries.  At the top of my list – dry, flaky winter skin.  I know I’m not the only one out there who is plagued with the issue of super dry skin, so I’m here to help. Behold – the ultimate skin scrub to help get rid of the dry skin and leave you looking refreshed and silky smooth.  The best part?  You can make it at home, and it’s beyond easy.

Ingredients:

  • Sugar
  • Oil (I prefer coconut oil, but feel free to use another kind if you like)
  • Essential Oil (your choice – this is the best part of creating your own scrub, you get to pick the perfect scent for you)

Mix together the sugar and oil at a ratio of about 1 part oil to two parts sugar – you can adjust this to your desired thickness, but this seems to work pretty well.  Add in a few drops of essential oil to make it smell out of this world, and you’re good to go.  Once in the shower, rub on your body in a circular motion to buff your skin.  The oil will leave it nice and moisturized.  Rinse it off and prepare to feel smooth, soft and fresh!

*Make sure to clean the tub after, as the oil will leave a slippery residue behind.  Don’t want to cause any accidents!

Voila!  Soft skin made easy by ingredients found at home.  Let me know what you guys think after trying it.  What are other ways you use to stay soft and moisturized during the winter?
