With bathing suit season just around the corner, we all know it’s time to start getting healthy and in shape. For a lot of us this means making weekly trips to the gym to work hard. What else does this mean? Sweat, pain and tears (ok, maybe not so much the tears, but you catch my drift). I’ve got a few of my gym bag essentials to help keep you feeling fresh and looking pretty after a mean workout. Read on to see my picks + enter to win passes to see an advance screening of Pain and Gain!
Cleansing wipes are an absolute saviour after a good sweat – they are quick and easy to use and leave you feeling fresh. I like to use them on my face and body, especially when I don’t have time to have a quick shower before heading home. I love the light grapefruit scent as well, it really helps you to feel refreshed afterwards.
Another saviour – when you’re in a hurry and want to perk up in an instant, Batiste Dry Shampoo is fantastic. Spritz it onto your roots, wait a minute or two, and comb it in. It will soak up oil leaving your hair with a just-washed feeling.
If you do plan on grabbing a quick rinse post-workout, I suggest bringing along a detoxifying shampoo like Redken’s Refreshing Detox Shampoo. It helps to remove buildup and impurities so your hair feels clean and light.
After a good workout you’re pumped up and ready to go. Keep the feeling by using a refreshing body wash with an invigorating scent (I prefer something fruity or citrusy to really wake me up) that gets rid of any sweat and leaves you squeaky clean.
Of course, you’re going to want an anti-perspirant that is going to help you stay fresh both throughout your workout and afterwards. I like Nivea’s Dry Confidence Anti-Perspirant Stick – it’s invisible and helps to keep underarm sweat at bay.
Get some inspiration from the hard bodies in the upcoming movie Pain and Gain (opening April 26) starring Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Anthony Mackie. Want to see it before everyone else? I’m giving away a pair of passes to see the advance screening in Toronto on April 24th, and entering is easy! Please make sure you are able to attend the screening before entering. Click through to this post to enter.
