Dior’s Creative Director, Tyen, drew influence from the legendary Bird of Paradise to create a summer collection that is as exotic and tropical as you might imagine. Think gold, azure, peacock blue and hibiscus pink. This 15 piece collection will transport you directly to paradise. I have most of the collection here to share with you, except for one of the 5 Coleurs Paradise palettes (Peacock). Take a look, and let me know what you think. This limited edition collection (only the Dior Addict Lipsticks will remain in the line) will be available in stores in May 2013.
Dior 5 Couleurs Paradise Palette in Blue Lagoon (Peacock also to be available), $60 – Dior’s signature 5 Couleurs Palettes took on a tropical style with this collection. Pictured above is the palette in Blue Lagoon, which features five blue shades (some with a hint of green) ranging from light to dark. These go really well together and are perfect for creating a bright eye with a hint of drama. These come with the formula we’ve come to know from Dior – they apply nicely with good colour payoff. I will provide swatches so you can see how the shades all look on.
Diorshow Waterproof Liner in Aqua Green, $28.50 – This collection also includes one limited edition waterproof liner in aqua green, which perfectly complements the palettes. This tropical green shade is not as bright as I was hoping (I love coloured eyeliners that really pop), but it still looks great on. The tip is also very thin, which allows for really precise application.
Dior Addict Lipstick in Exotic & Passionee, $31 – This collection sees the addition of 2 new Dior Addict Lipstick shades in summery pinks. I love how these apply – they’re light, smooth and have a beautiful shine to them that you wouldn’t normally expect in a lipstick. Passionee has to be my favourite – I love the pop of pink it gives my lips. If you fall in love with either of these don’t worry about them disappearing with this collection – they are going to be added to the Dior Addict Lipstick line permanently.
Dior Lip Maximizer in Apricot, $37 – This summer, Dior has decided to bring back the Apricot version of the cult favourite. With a nude, glossy look, this can be worn over lipstick for a boost of shine. It can also be used as a treatment to help plump up the lips.
Dior Jelly Lip Pen in Copacabana, Carioca & Gaia, $26 – We now come to my favourite new product in this collection. I’m obsessed with these jumbo lip pencils. They glide on smoothly, with a hint of colour, a little shimmer, and lots of shine. Easy to apply and perfect to carry around. These three shades are perfect for a sexy, almost naked look (Carioca is more of a coral colour, though it appears to be more of an orange tone in the picture – my camera and lighting would not cooperate!).
Dior Vernis Duo in Samba & Bahia, $29 ea – How fun are these? Dior took the guesswork out of a matching mani/pedi and came up with these duo minis for a perfect match. Wear one on your toes and the other on your fingers for a fun, summery look. The formula is really nice – 2 coats used for perfect coverage and no streaking.
Dior Nude Tan Paradise Blush in Pink Glow & Coral Glow, $56 – These beautiful compacts contain everything you need for a gorgeous glow with a combination of bronzers and blushes. Combine the bronzer on the left with the blush on the right for two shades that go perfectly together and will warm up and define your features – and feel free to blend them together for one easy golden hue. These compacts also come with a couture design pop brush for perfect blending.
Diorskin Nude Tan BB Creme SPF 15, $45 – This summer collection sees a spin on Dior’s new BB Creme, with a tan component added it, making it a combination of bronzer and a BB. It helps to warm up the skin with a hint of tan, while evening out the complexion and providing SPF15.
Dior Paradise Brush, $55 – Last, but certainly not least, we have the gorgeous Paradise Brush – full and soft with bright red bristles, this brush is perfect for applying bronzer or blush for a gorgeous glow.
