NARS Eye Paint Review and Swatches

This fall, NARS has introduced an amazing double threat with staying power that really packs a punch.  NARS Eye Paint, available in a range of 10 shades, can be worn as liner or shadow depending on your mood and the look that you are going for.  These eye paint pots come in a lightweight gel formula for easy and precise application.  When applying as an eyeshadow I suggest using your fingers for maximum coverage, while liner application is made easier with the new #38 Angled Eyeliner Brush.

I love the pigmentation of these Eye Paints – the colour is so bold and rich.  You know exactly what you’re going to get once you see the colour.  Not only that, but these babies last and last.  Once applied, you do have a brief window of time to play with them and smudge them as you’d like, but once they’ve set they aren’t going anywhere.  Seriously, they aren’t going to budge or smudge, which really makes them ideal as liners.  They do take a little bit of work and makeup remover to remove but they won’t stain your skin.  It just means you are going to have a solid makeup look all night long.

The Eye Paints are available in 10 shades:

  • Black Valley (black)
  • Mesopotamia (brown)
  • Transvaal (grey)
  • Solomon Islands (turquoise blue)
  • Mozambique (olive)
  • Snake Eyes (black with green shimmer)
  • Tatar (black with purple shimmer)
  • Ubangi (black with blue shimmer)
  • Interstellar (silver)
  • Iskandar (gold)

Bottom line – they apply beautifully and give excellent results.  If you’re looking for a liner/shadow with serious staying power, I highly recommend them.  NARS has also shared some how-to videos using these Eye Paints which you can view on their YouTube channel – the Smoldering Chocolate Eye and the Rich, Green Eye.
