Pop of Colour | Spring Look Tutorial (Guest Post from Miranda Chan of

While I’m away in Orlando, some of my fellow Canadian Beauty Bloggers have some amazing guest posts to keep you occupied.  Today’s guest post comes from Miranda Chan of Miranda Loves.  Read on to see her colourful look and find more from her below!

Hey everyone, first of all I want to thank Dee for hosting me on her blog while she is away on vacation 🙂 I actually just had the chance to meet her at the CND Canada event – it’s pretty amazing to be able to meet other bloggers in the CBB network face to face.
With this brutally cold weather here in Toronto, I thought that I would create a look with a pop of colour in anticipation of spring or summer. For those who know me, they will know that I typically gravitate towards neutral looks, however this year I promised myself that I would incorporate more colour into my makeup routine.

So here goes…. I know that the Too Faced x Sephora palette featured below is limited edition, however don’t let that stop you from taking another colorful shadow to create this look. The steps would be the same.. I am just teaching you how to get the best color payoff with any color you wish to incorporate. This simple trick  helps the colour to stand out.
All makeup products that were used in this look are pictured here:

For the eyes, I primed with MAC Paint Pot in Painterly to help prevent creasing on the lids. Next, I applied “Licorice” on the lid, being careful not to go above the crease. This dark shadow will serve as the base where you will put your colored shadow.  Doing this will make your colours stand out and pop more than just layering the colour on to your bare lid. Alternatively, you can also opt for a cream based base instead of a shadow.

Next I packed on “David & Marg” and then blended out the edges with “Mousse and Pudding” to make for a more cohesive look.
For the brow bone, I applied “Butter Pecan” and for the bottom lashes, I applied “Mousse”.
The rest of my makeup is my regular routine which you can find on my makeup look tutorials on my blog 🙂
