WMCFW SS 14 Day 1 Beauty: Beaufille, Pink Tartan, David Dixon

As I’m sure many of you know, we’re currently in the middle of World Mastercard Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2014 up here in Toronto.  I’m going to be heading backstage tomorrow and Friday to give you a first hand look at what’s going on, so make sure you follow me on Instagram and Twitter to get updates as they happen!  I’m also going to be bringing you daily recaps (along with products used and instructions) of the hair (by Redken), makeup (by Maybelline) and nail (by Essie) looks from the shows so you can get a first hand look at the upcoming beauty trends – make sure you let me know which you do and don’t like in the comments below!

Beaufille

Hair:  To achieve this look start by spraying a little mist of water through the hair. Add a quarter size amount of Loose Endings 09 into your hands and rub through the hair, running it through from roots to ends pushing back away from the face. Finish this look off by spraying Control Addict 28 to give more hold, and Shine Flash 02 to give a shinier wet look.

Makeup: A soft brown smoky eye gives this makeup some attitude. Grace created this look by blending the Maybelline New York EyeStudio Master Smoky LongWearing Shadow Pencil in Scorching Brown along the lash line and up into the crease.

Nails: How cool are these?  Essie’s Lead Artist Rita Remark gave models a pale pink nail with a clear tip for a look that is totally modern.

Makeup: Grace opened up the eyes with layer upon layer of the new Maybelline New York Volum’ Express The Colossal Smoky Eyes Mascara.

David Dixon

Hair: Start by applying Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine (LOVE this stuff!) through out the hair.  Blow dry hair into the direction of the back of the head where you will be placing your pony tail.  Create a centre part then gather hair loosely into a low ponytail, make sure you allow the sides to drape over the ear and rest at the jaw line. Tie off your ponytail and use Fashion Work 12 to finish and polish the look. Finish with Shine Flash 02 for beautiful shine.

Makeup: Grace Lee kept things fresh with this look, adding Color Tattoo Pure Pigments in Breaking Bronze to the lid and a light swipe of the new Color Elixirs to the lips and cheeks for a little colour.

Nails: Start with 2 coats of Topless & Barefoot, followed by one coat of Matte About You to soften the colour.  Polish half of the nail to the tip with Hors D’Oeuvres.
