This fall, Gucci Westman (Global Artistic Director for Revlon) has once again come up with a show-stopping collection of shades destined to turn heads. The Revlon Boho Chic Collection, inspired by the sophisticated Bohemian look, puts a focus on bold jewel tones and feminine lips.
Revlon ColorStay Eye Liner in Sapphire ($10.49 CAD): This intense blue liner makes the perfect companion for the Eclectic eye shadow palette. More forgiving and less harsh than black liner, this fine-tipped liner helps to brighten up the eyes, adding a hint of mysterious colour to the lids.
Revlon PhotoReady Primer + Shadow in Eclectic ($13.59 CAD): I absolutely adore the blue-hued jewel tones included in this palette. Although they can be a little bit bold, I find that you can easily play around with them to find a way to make them wearable for any situation. The shadows glide on to the skin really nicely and I have to say I was quite impressed with how pigmented the shades were. These blue shades may not be for everyone, but are definitely worth stepping outside of your comfort zone for.
Revlon ColorStay Lip Liner in Soft Pink & Fuchsia ($10.49 CAD ea): I’m not going to lie to you – these two lip liners were the part of the Boho Chic Collection that I was least excited about. In my defense, I’m not a big lip liner gal, and tend to stick to more nude/red/clear lip liners when I do wear them. These liners are pink. Hella pink. Though when it comes to pairing them up with the Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipsticks included in this collection, they make sense, and definitely work well with the shades.
Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in Boho Chic, Ready to Wear, Stylist & Wardrobe ($13.59 CAD): I’ve heard some things that are not necessarily super flattering about the Ultimate Suede Lipsticks, and went into these feeling a little apprehensive. I’m not sure if the formula was tweaked a little with these 4 new shades, but I actually loved them. They were smooth and moisturizing, and the colour came out spot on on my lips. Not overly pigmented, these lipsticks gave lips a nice boost of colour. My favourites of the bunch have to be Stylist and Wardrobe. Both give a nice flushed colour to my lips with a hint of berry.
Revlon Nail Enamel in Artsy, Edgy & Bohemian ($6.29 CAD ea): My god are these ever lovely. I have swatched these to try them in person, but I swear my nails are in such rough shape right now that I’m going to hold off on sharing them for now (you can check out fantastic swatches courtesy of beauty geeks here). Bohemian is a really lovely teal shimmer, reminiscent of a peacock feather, but Artsy and Edgy really steal the show. With a jelly finish and tons of thick glitter, these really give off an interesting effect that you need to see to understand. I will caution you though, they aren’t exactly easy to apply. They need to be applied thickly, rather than just swiped on as you would do with a regular polish, for them to go on properly.
